He/Him
Technology Professional: Learner Support

Ian McLaughlin brings a wealth of experience in education and UX/UI design to the TTCP. With a Master's in Education and a certificate in User Experience and User Interface Design, both from the University of Minnesota, Ian has successfully merged his pedagogical expertise with technological proficiency. Over his 13-year career, Ian has excelled as a high school educator, program coordinator, teacher trainer, and curriculum developer, creating impactful learning experiences grounded in Human-Centered Design principles.

Ian's diverse background ranges from being a founding teacher at Hiawatha Collegiate High School to founding Justice By Design, where he developed a rigorous curriculum aimed at supplementing and replacing mainstream social studies content with counter-narratives that amplify BIPOC voices. Additionally, he led a UX/UI design team at BizInc, a Black-owned technology company in Atlanta, supporting small Black-owned businesses. At the Learning Disabilities Association, Ian prepared future Special Education teachers through Minnesota's first alternative teacher licensure program.

Ian loves bringing his passion for education and technology, combined with his dedication to creating meaningful and relevant experiences, to his role supporting TTCP's technology, instructional design, and user interface needs.
