Binesiikwe Patricia “Trish” Staine is a proven strategic leader with over 20 years of experience in child welfare in various capacities and over 12 years of experience specifically in human services. She specializes in working with diverse populations, advocacy, policy design and development, family relations, volunteer management, and engagement. Patricia is known for her leadership, integrity, and ability to achieve results under pressure.

Currently, Patricia serves as a Tribal Liaison Outreach for the Tribal Training and Certification Partnership. Prior to this, she filled the role of Community Trainer with the TTCP, where she co-facilitated training sessions for child welfare workers and supervisors, focusing on history, culture, and the application of ICWA and MIFPA laws to improve practices with American Indian families.

Patricia has extensive experience in foster care licensing, case management, and customer service. She has served as a Child Protection Social Worker, a Foster Care Licensing Specialist, and an Assistant Manager at a local sandwich shop. In her earlier role as an ICWA Social Worker, she provided case management services to Native American families and supported students navigating the education system. In addition to these formal roles, Patricia and her husband served as foster providers for several years.

Patricia holds a Master of Science and Education in Guidance and Counseling from the University of Wisconsin, Superior, and a Bachelor of Arts with double majors in American Indian Studies and Communication from the University of Minnesota, Duluth. She is a recipient of the 2022 YWCA Mission Leader Award for her efforts in eliminating racism and empowering women.

Outside of her professional life, Patricia usually spends time with her very large and loving family. She is a beadwork artist, enjoys the powwow trail, and will sometimes be seen running with her kids or the KwePack.
